The accumulation of mud and sand produced by the dragging of rivers and by the action of the tide means that they can accumulate in large quantities in undesired areas. This is the case of marinas, fishing harbors, docks, mouths, estuaries… where the accumulation of mud and sand causes loss of draft and, in many occasions, environmental damage in protected areas or shellfish banks.
The extraction of these sandy sludges and the limitation that exists in marine dumping points and terrestrial landfills, increasingly greater as it is logical, means that these sludges must be extracted and treated in the port itself.
We carry out the work “on-site” and take care of all the operations with our mobile equipment: equipment assembly, testing, dredging and treatment.
When it is a question of extracting small quantities or the area to be dredged has a shallow draught and it is difficult to maneuver with large dredges, we have small ecological dredging equipment.
If the dredging actions require the use of large extraction capacity equipment, SERECO makes available to the entities and companies involved in this field, treatment plants for this dredged material so that the end result is clean sand that can be reused in beach and riverside regeneration and completely dry sludge that can be reused or properly managed.
We carry out the work “on-site”, in the port itself and we take care of all the operations with our mobile equipment: equipment assembly, testing, dredging and treatment.
This is an efficient, environmentally friendly, safe process, which is committed to minimization, both at sea and on land, seeking zero waste disposal.
In the event that this dredged material is characterized as hazardous waste or with parameters out of range, this is the only possible solution if we want to give it an environmentally correct treatment.
